Weeds

Yesterday the weather was a little cooler so I spent several hours pulling weeds, and found these hanging on a huge weed.  I have no idea what the name of the weed is, but these remind me of Chinese lanterns.  I wonder if they will keep their shape while they dry.  The color is wonderful, and the shape would make interesting beads.  Hmmm, start with a hollow bead, etc. etc. etc.  I also wonder if I could cast them in glass.  They might be too fragile to make a mold, but I could try when I have a little time to experiment.  Not sure when that will be.

    They are called Chinese Lantern flower (I googled it). They can be quite invasive from what I read, but I think it would be great to grow some of them for a bit… If you happen to have any extra seeds, can you put a few aside for me? I think Chloe would really like seeing these in the garden - even if we end up pulling them all out at the end of the season.

    Oh, and I have a little something for you that I grabbed at a Marriott the last time we stayed there (that shampoo & soap that smelled really good). See you at BeadFest!

    I got quite a few comments on the facebook blog network. Now I wish I had saved some. Maybe more will grow. If so, I will try to save some for you. I have no idea where they came from.

    Hmmm- love smelly shampoo and soap!
